HitSum Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026
HitSum is a golf app published by Kiki Gadgets Ltd ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information HitSum collects, why, who handles it, and the choices you have. We keep collection to what the app needs to work.
The short version
- Your swing videos, shots and history stay on your device.
- You can use HitSum without an account. Signing in with Apple is optional.
- If you host a shared session, its code and shot numbers are stored online so your friends can watch.
- Usage statistics and crash reports are on by default, and you can turn them off in Settings.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Information that stays on your device
HitSum uses your device's camera, microphone, photo library and motion sensors (tilt and air pressure) to record and measure your shots. The videos, shot measurements, session history and club analysis it creates are stored only on your device. We never receive them. They leave your device only when you export or share them yourself, for example by saving a traced video to Photos or sending a share card.
HitSum does not use your location.
Information we collect
If you sign in with Apple (optional). We receive the account identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real email). We use these only to operate your account. HitSum works fully as a guest without them.
If you host a Join session. When you share a live session, we store the session code, the shots you hit during that session (ball speed, launch, carry and similar numbers, the club, the time of each shot, and technical details of how it was measured, such as camera settings and air conditions), and your account identifier, so people you give the code to can follow along. This data is stored with Google Firebase until you delete your account. Joining someone else's session doesn't store anything about you.
Usage and crash data. Unless you turn it off (Settings → Preferences → Share usage and crash reports), HitSum sends:
- anonymous usage statistics, such as which screens are opened and whether shots were measured successfully, through Firebase Analytics. These are not linked to your identity.
- crash reports, through Firebase Crashlytics, so we can fix problems. If you're signed in when a crash happens, the report includes your account identifier.
Purchases. If you subscribe to HitSum Premium, Apple processes your payment. We never see your card or payment details. Apple and our subscription service, RevenueCat, record your purchase and subscription status so the app knows what you've unlocked. RevenueCat uses an anonymous identifier until you sign in, and your account identifier after that.
How we use information
We use it only to:
- provide HitSum's features, including sign-in, shared sessions and Premium;
- understand how the app is used and fix crashes;
- answer you when you contact us.
We don't sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it to track you across other apps or websites.
Service providers
These companies process data on our behalf, under their own privacy terms:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and subscriptions |
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics) | Accounts, shared sessions, usage statistics, crash reports |
| RevenueCat | Checking and managing your subscription status |
These providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries.
How long we keep information
- Account and hosted sessions: until you delete your account.
- Crash reports and usage statistics: kept by Firebase for a limited period under its retention settings. Usage statistics are not linked to you.
- Purchase records: kept by Apple and RevenueCat as needed for billing, refunds, accounting and legal requirements.
- Data on your device: stays until you delete it or remove the app.
Your choices and rights
- Use HitSum without an account by continuing as a guest.
- Turn off usage and crash reporting in Settings → Preferences.
- Delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your sign-in and every session you hosted. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, because Apple bills it: cancel in your Apple ID's Subscriptions settings.
- Revoke Sign in with Apple at any time in your iPhone's Settings → [your name] → Sign in with Apple.
- Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, using the contact details below. Depending on where you live (for example the UK, the EU, or California), you may have further rights under local law, and we'll honour them.
Children
HitSum is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app.
